About Karen

Karen joined the Financial Plan family in 2021 and contributes significantly to smooth operations throughout the office. Karen and her counterpart, Courtney, hold responsibility for all phone operations and reception duties. Her role also includes scheduling, client hospitality, training, and general office management. She is a great first point of contact for anyone seeking answers and can always get you pointed in the right direction.

Karen’s warm and friendly personality are immediately apparent to all who have the pleasure of speaking with her. She holds a degree from WWU in business administration with a concentration in marketing. Prior to joining Financial Plan, Karen spent 28 years in advertising and customer service with the Bellingham Herald.

Outside of work, Karen enjoys walking the Lake Padden trails with her dogs and golfing with friends and family: husband (David) and two daughters (Kaitlin and Ally). In fact, the Gebhardt family hosts an annual charity golf tournament, benefiting Hospice in honor of Karen’s mother-in-law. These successful and fun tournaments have been going strong for over 25 years!
